Information You Provide
Google Account Information: When you connect DateBack to Google Photos, we request permission to upload photos to your Google Photos account. We only request the minimum permissions necessary (photoslibrary.appendonly scope).
Information We Do Not Collect
- Personal Data: DateBack does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to our servers.
- Usage Analytics: We do not track your usage of the application.
- Photo Content: Your photos are processed locally on your device and uploaded directly to Google Photos. We never access, store, or view your photo content.
How We Use Your Information
Google Photos Integration
When you connect DateBack to Google Photos:
- Authentication: We use OAuth 2.0 to securely authenticate with your Google account
- Token Storage: Authentication tokens are stored securely in your macOS Keychain
- Photo Upload: Photos are uploaded directly from your device to your Google Photos account
- No Server Transmission: All processing happens locally on your device
Permissions We Request
photoslibrary.appendonly: This permission allows DateBack to:
- Upload new photos to your Google Photos library
- Create albums in your Google Photos account
This permission does NOT allow DateBack to:
- Read your existing photos
- Delete photos
- Modify existing photos
- Access any other Google services
Data Storage and Security
Local Storage
- All photo processing occurs locally on your device
- Processed photos are stored in the location you specify
- No photos are uploaded to DateBack servers (we don't have any servers)
Token Security
- OAuth tokens are stored securely in your macOS Keychain
- Tokens are encrypted by the operating system
- Tokens are only used to authenticate API requests to Google Photos
- You can revoke access at any time through your Google Account settings
Third-Party Services
Google Photos API
When you use the Google Photos integration:
- Photos are uploaded directly to Google's servers
- Google's Privacy Policy applies to data stored in Google Photos

Your Rights and Choices
Access and Control
- View Connected Accounts: Check which Google account is connected in Settings
- Disconnect: Remove Google Photos integration at any time from Settings
- Revoke Access: Revoke DateBack's access through your Google Account settings
- Delete Data: Uninstalling DateBack removes all local data and tokens
Data Deletion
To delete all data associated with DateBack:
- Disconnect Google Photos in DateBack Settings
- Revoke access in your Google Account settings
- Uninstall DateBack from your device
- Delete any processed photos from your local storage
Children's Privacy
DateBack is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:
- Updating the "Last Updated" date
- Displaying a notice in the application
- Posting the new Privacy Policy on our website
