By downloading, installing, or using DateBack ("the Application"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service
("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Application.
2. Description of Service
DateBack is a desktop application that:
- Processes and organizes Snapchat Memories exports
- Extracts metadata from photos and videos
- Organizes media files by date
- Optionally uploads processed photos to Google Photos (with your authorization)
3. License
Grant of License
DateBack is licensed under the MIT License. You are granted a free, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:
Restrictions
You may not:
- Use the Application for illegal purposes
- Attempt to reverse engineer compiled portions of the Application (though source code is available)
- Remove or modify any copyright notices
- Use the Application to violate any third-party rights
4. User Responsibilities
Your Content
- You are solely responsible for the photos and videos you process with DateBack
- You must have the legal right to process and upload any content
- You must comply with all applicable laws regarding your content
Google Photos Integration
When using the Google Photos integration:
- You must have a valid Google account
- You must authorize DateBack to upload photos to your account
- You are responsible for managing your Google Photos storage
- You must comply with Google's Terms of Service
- You can revoke DateBack's access at any time
Snapchat Content
- You must have the legal right to download and process your Snapchat Memories
- You must comply with Snapchat's Terms of Service
- DateBack is not affiliated with or endorsed by Snapchat
5. Privacy
Your use of DateBack is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Key points:
- DateBack processes all data locally on your device
- We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal information
- OAuth tokens are stored securely in your macOS Keychain
- Photos are uploaded directly to Google Photos (not to our servers)

THE APPLICATION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED

- Warranties of merchantability

- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
Use at Your Own Risk
- You use DateBack at your own risk
- We are not responsible for any data loss
- We recommend backing up your photos before processing
- We are not responsible for issues with third-party services (Google Photos, Snapchat)
7. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
- We are not liable for any loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
- Our total liability shall not exceed $0 (zero dollars)
